Step 4 (Improved)
We want the band to be represented as a group who don't care about other people's opinions and how they are viewed by the public. The message I want to put across is to not take things to seriously. The target audience is teenagers and young adults who like rock music. I think the band should have a similar fan base to an artist like the Arctic Monkeys. I think the target audience could be anywhere on the demographic table but possibly more at the bottom than at the top. I think the psychographics for the target audience would be aspirers, explorers and reformers. I think these are the psychographic as these are typical younger people and fans of the Arctic Monkeys are usually younger.

To get there you need to make sure all of your practical work is clearly fit for purpose (which means looks like a real media product), AND that it shows originality and flair. You also need to ensure that all of your analytical work is thorough and sophisticated, and that it uses correct media studies language expertly.
